Ask us to delete it

If you no longer have the app installed, or you cannot sign in, email us and we will delete your account for you.

Send it from the email address on the account, or tell us what that address is. We respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

What deletion removes, and what it does not

Deleted permanentlyKept
Your account and ability to sign in
Your email address
Your password
Your profile and display name
Your notification tokens
Your presence and activity records
Your votes to end a debate
The debates you took part in
The messages you sent inside them
The AI analysis of those debates

— with your name removed. You appear only as an unnamed participant.

Why your messages are kept. A debate on Tiebreaker involves two to eight people, and the record of it belongs to all of them. The AI analysis quotes what each person said in order to explain its verdict. Removing one person's words would not redact their debate — it would break everyone else's copy of it, and the verdict along with it. So we remove the link between you and what you wrote, rather than removing what you wrote.

We keep those messages for as long as the debate record itself exists.

If you need your messages removed too

The right to erasure is not all-or-nothing, and neither is our answer. If your circumstances mean the content of your messages needs to be erased and not just unlinked from you, email privacy@praxisstrategies.io and tell us what you need and why.

We assess each request individually, weighing your rights against those of the other people who took part in that debate, and we will tell you the outcome and our reasoning. If we cannot grant a request in full, we will say so and explain why, and you keep the right to complain to your data protection authority.

If the account was created by someone under 16, say so in your message. We resolve those requests in the requester's favour.

Two things deletion cannot reach

Images already shared. Tiebreaker lets people share a results page as an image. Once an image has left someone's phone, it is outside our systems and we cannot recall or change it.

Your subscription. Tiebreaker Premium is billed by Apple or Google, not by us, and deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it through the store you bought it from:

Cancel first if you want the billing to stop, because you will not be able to sign in afterwards.
